Extreme Weather Shelter Volunteers
Every winter volunteers are needed for Yakima County's Extreme Winter Weather Shelters. The shelters provide a safe, warm place for those who are homeless in Yakima County when overnight temperatures become dangerously low. Those who would like to help will need to attend volunteer training which is usually held several times in November and December. Information for the 2012 trainings will be posted in the fall.
For additional information about the Extreme Weather Shelter Program, please contact Dave Hanson at Sunrise Outreach Center of Yakima: 509-225-9310.
