Extreme Weather Shelter Program
Every year volunteers are needed for Yakima County’s Extreme Winter Weather Shelters.  The shelters provide a safe warm place for those who are homeless in Yakima County when overnight temperatures become dangerously low.  Currently there are four shelters operating in Yakima County:  Two men's and one women's in Yakima, and one family shelter in Sunnyside.

Because of a higher than expected need this season, the Network would like to open a third men's shelter in Yakima.  In order to do so 50 male volunteers are needed to help staff it.  If you would like to volunteer, please contact Ken Trainor at (509) 949-9642.

 Other Opportunities
No matter what your skills, interests, age, or resources, you can make a difference for men, women and children who are homeless.  Volunteer work, advocacy efforts, financial or material contributions, and continued self-education are some the ways you can help. Please visit the above links to find out what you can do today.

On the green tool bar above you will find links to pages with additional information about volunteering, donating and what kind of donations are needed by member agencies.
